Description

A walker built from repetition

The most telling statistic here is the ratio of 815 pieces to just 144 unique parts. A walker with four identical legs and a symmetrical body naturally reuses the same elements again and again, and you will notice that in the instructions: whole sections are built twice or four times over. That makes the set approachable for younger builders tackling their first larger model, and relaxing for adults who enjoy a steady rhythm rather than constant hunting for unusual parts.

Hoth in the background

In the film, the Empire lands a column of these walkers on the ice planet Hoth to break through to the hidden Rebel base. Their size and armour make them almost untouchable, and the Rebels' snowspeeders have to improvise to bring one down. The model captures the boxy head, heavy body and long legs that make the AT-AT instantly recognisable. It works as the centrepiece of a Hoth scene, especially if you already own other sets from the same battle.

Palette and practicality

Light bluish grey and dark bluish grey dominate, with black used for joints and fine detail and tan as a secondary colour. From a builder's point of view, this is a very practical mix.
