One night in Rohan

The battle at Helm's Deep is the centrepiece of The Two Towers: the people of Rohan retreat to their mountain stronghold while Saruman's army marches through the rain to break its walls. It is one of the most memorable sequences in the whole trilogy, and this set captures that confrontation in brick form. When it appeared in 2012 it was among the largest models in the Middle-earth range, and it remains one of the sets fans most associate with that theme.

Built from stone

The colour data reads like a description of a fortress. Light Bluish Grey and Dark Bluish Grey dominate, with Black and Reddish Brown behind them, giving the model a heavy, weathered look. There are 216 distinct part types across the 1,367 pieces, so many elements repeat, as you would expect from a build centred on walls and masonry. For anyone who builds their own castles, ruins or rocky scenery, that concentration of grey parts is a practical foundation to work from.

A cast for both sides

With eight minifigures, the set includes enough characters to show both the defenders on the wall and the attackers below.
