About Protectors

Guardians of Okoto

When Bionicle returned in 2015, the story moved to the island of Okoto, and the Protectors stood for its six elements. They are compact figures built from ball joints, armour shells and a mask, much smaller than the Toa of the same year. Protector of Stone (70779-1) leads with 73 pieces, followed by Protector of Water (70780-1, 65), Protector of Jungle (70778-1, 64), Protector of Fire (70783-1, 63), Protector of Ice (70782-1, 62) and Protector of Earth (70781-1, 60). All six share the same basic build, with colours marking each element.

A small, complete wave

Because all six came out in a single year and share a similar size, the Protectors are one of the easier parts of Bionicle to collect in full. They also make a sensible starting point for younger builders who want to try the figure-building system without a large box.
