About Legoville
Where Legoville fits
Legoville belongs to Duplo and is also filed under the Town themes. It covers the same ground as the classic town sets, only with larger bricks, sturdier vehicles and simpler builds. The focus is on recognisable places a toddler might know from daily life: animal parks, farms, building sites, fire engines and police cars. The wide range of 77 sets means there is plenty to combine into one play town. Vehicles from one box can drive to buildings from another, so a collection grows naturally over time.
The zoo sets lead the way
The three biggest boxes are all zoos or large scenes. Giant Zoo (4960-1) from 2006 has 126 pieces, Big City Zoo (5635-1) from 2009 has 125, and Friendly Zoo (4968-1) from 2005 has 84. Construction Site (4988-1) from 2007 adds 87 pieces of building-site play, while Big Farm (4665-1) from 2005 brings 72 pieces of rural life. Animals play a large part across these sets, which makes them popular with children who are just learning the names of zoo and farm animals.
Emergency services
Police and fire themes appear throughout the run. Police Station (4691-1) opened the line in 2004 with 64 pieces, Police Action (4965-1) followed in 2006 with 65, and Fire Station (5601-1) arrived in 2008 with 72 pieces. Together these sets let children stage a whole rescue, from the alarm to the return to base.
