About BrickLink Designer Program

How the programme works

BrickLink began as an independent marketplace for bricks and was acquired by the LEGO® Group in 2019. Through the Designer Program, fan designers submit their own models, usually built digitally first. Selected designs are offered for pre-order, and only those that attract enough backers go into production. Runs are limited, so many of these sets become sought after once they sell out. For many fans the appeal is getting a community-built model as a proper boxed set with instructions and freshly sorted parts, something that would otherwise take weeks of hunting down pieces.

The largest builds

Several designs cross the 4,000-piece mark. Privateer Frigate Fortuna (910059-1), dated 2026, leads with 4,086 pieces, followed by Studgate Train Station (910002-1) from 2023 with 4,074. Adventure in Transylvania (910049-1) has 4,060 pieces and The Thieves of Tortuga (910053-1) 4,002, both from 2025. Mountain Fortress (910029-1) from 2024 falls just short at 3,997.

Familiar themes, fresh designs

Many submissions revisit subjects long loved by adult fans: pirate ships, castles, railway stations and city streets. Mountain View Observatory (910027-1) has 3,876 pieces, Sushi Restaurant (910060-1) 3,604 and Parisian Street (910032-1) 3,533. The street scenes in particular sit comfortably next to modular town buildings, which is one reason the programme appeals to people who already build large city layouts.

Checking a set

With builds of this size, the parts lists are useful when checking a second-hand copy or sorting a partly built model. If you already own a large collection, “What can I build?” shows how close you are to one of these models, and the list tells you exactly which pieces are missing. At this scale, knowing what you lack before you start saves a great deal of time.
