About Jurassic World

Two waves of sets

The theme started in 2018 with Gentle Giants Petting Zoo (10879-1, 24 pieces) and T. rex Tower (10880-1, 22 pieces). A second wave followed a few years later: T. rex and Triceratops Dinosaur Breakout (10939-1) from 2021 is the largest set at 36 pieces, and Dinosaur Nursery (10938-1) from 2022 has 27. Triceratops Baby (472210-1), also from 2022, is listed as a single part. With only five entries, the theme is easy to collect in full.

Big pieces, gentle play

Duplo bricks are twice the size of standard bricks in every direction, which makes them easy for small hands to hold and press together. The Jurassic World sets combine large moulded dinosaurs with fences and simple buildings, so a young child can put a scene together and start playing straight away. Feeding the animals, looking after baby dinosaurs and the occasional escape echo the films in a very mild form. The pieces also connect with standard bricks, so the dinosaurs can stay in use as children move on to smaller sets. If a stray dinosaur turns up at the bottom of a toy box, the parts lists help you work out which set it came from.
