Description

Modelled on the largest container ships of their time

The real Triple-E ships operated by Maersk ranked among the largest container vessels in the world when introduced, their name shorthand for Economy of scale, Energy efficient and Environmentally improved. LEGO developed set 10241 with Maersk's involvement, giving it the ship's distinctive hull shape, a bridge structure set well back towards the stern, and stacked containers standing in for a cargo that, on the real vessel, runs into tens of thousands of standard boxes. LEGO does not state an exact scale for the model, but the proportions clearly echo the real ship.

1,518 pieces, 191 shapes and a hull with no ballast

Most of the hull is built from large light-grey and dark-red panel pieces that recreate the two-tone paint scheme typical of cargo ships, while white and black elements fill in the bridge, funnel and finer details. With 191 unique shapes across 1,518 pieces, the emphasis sits on large panelling rather than intricate mechanics, giving a sturdy model well suited to sitting on a shelf rather than being handled constantly.

A cargo model, not a crewed vessel

No minifigures come with the set. Unlike many other Creator Expert vehicles, the Triple-E is built purely as a cargo ship model, where the stacked containers themselves are the focus rather than a crew of figures.
