Luke's first ship

The T-16 is barely seen on screen, yet fans know it well. In A New Hope, Luke talks about bullseyeing womp rats in his T-16 back home, and a toy version sits in his room on the Lars homestead. It stands for the farm-boy chapter of his story, before the Rebellion, the Death Star and the trench run. That makes this set a less obvious but charming choice for anyone collecting the original trilogy.

A varied little build

Across its 94 pieces the set uses 47 unique elements, so almost every second part is a new shape or colour. For a model of this size that is a lot of variety, and the build rarely repeats itself. The parts list shows light grey, white, black and red as the main colours. The light grey is the older shade used before the switch to bluish greys, so it can look slightly different next to newer sets.

Room for one pilot

The single minifigure gives the model a pilot and turns it into something to pick up and fly around. Pair it with other Tatooine sets and you can build a small desert scene around the homestead.
