Description

Why the Falcon works small

Few ships in film have a silhouette as distinctive as the Falcon: a flat disc, two forward mandibles and a cockpit tube jutting out to one side. Those three features are enough to identify it, which is why the ship translates so well to mini scale. In A New Hope it escapes Mos Eisley and joins the Battle of Yavin, in The Empire Strikes Back it dodges asteroids, and in Return of the Jedi it flies into the second Death Star.
