Walkers in the forest

In Return of the Jedi, the Empire guards the shield generator protecting the second Death Star from the surface of Endor. AT-ST walkers stalk between the giant trees on patrol, until Rebel troops and the Ewoks bring them down with logs, ropes and a good deal of ingenuity. With its two legs and boxy head, the AT-ST became one of the most recognisable Imperial vehicles, and it has appeared in countless sets and sizes since.

Vehicle meets moon

The set comes from a 2012 range that paired a small vehicle with a location from the saga. Here the walker is joined by a scaled-down Endor, and a single minifigure completes the line-up. The contrast in scale is the whole point: a moon sitting next to a walker that fits in the palm of your hand. On a shelf it reads more like a little diorama than a play set, and it tells the story of the battle in a single glance.

More variety than usual
