Description

Three floors, three uses

The ground floor recreates a classic American diner, complete with a counter, booth seating and a kitchen area, while the first floor houses a dance or yoga studio lit by large windows. At the top sits an apartment with a small home studio, identifiable by instruments and recording equipment. This split between commercial and residential space is typical of the Modular Buildings line, turning each floor into its own self-contained scene worth exploring in detail.

Façade and street presence

The façade combines light bluish grey and white with tan accents, giving the building a brighter look than several other sets in the collection. Like every Modular Building, Downtown Diner is designed to line up seamlessly with other sets in the range, gradually forming a connected street. Small touches such as a fire escape, awnings and a narrow forecourt add to a convincing streetscape, and the building also holds up well on its own.
