Description

Two engines and a cockpit

A podracer is one of the strangest vehicles in the saga: two huge engines out front, linked by energy binders, with a tiny cockpit towed behind on cables. Anakin's version is blue, and blue leads the colour list for this set too. The design translates well into a small model because the shape is so distinctive. Even at 136 pieces, the arrangement of engines and pod makes it clear straight away which vehicle you are looking at.

The Boonta Eve race

In The Phantom Menace, Anakin is still a boy and a slave on Tatooine. Qui-Gon Jinn needs parts for his damaged ship, and a podrace is the only way to get them. Anakin enters with a racer he built himself and wins, earning his freedom and a place alongside the Jedi.
