Description

Heavy armour for a droid army

The AAT, or Armored Assault Tank, is the Trade Federation's main battle tank. It floats just above the ground on repulsors, carries a heavy forward cannon and is crewed by battle droids. During the ground battle on Naboo, columns of AATs advance on the Gungan army sheltering behind its energy shield. It is one of the defining machines of the prequel era and an obvious enemy for any Naboo or Gungan scene, and a model that still looks menacing on a shelf.

Old colours, early days

Released in 2000, this set belongs to the first years of Star Wars building sets, and the palette shows it. Tan, the old light grey, black and brown are the main colours, and those older greys differ from the bluish greys used today. If you are sorting a vintage collection, that distinction matters.
