About Technic

How the system works

Instead of relying on studded bricks, Technic models are built around beams with holes, axles, connector pins and gears. The result is functioning steering, gearboxes, differentials and suspension. Pneumatic cylinders and electric motors joined the range early on, and recent flagship models add motors controlled through a smartphone app. Older sets use studded beams, while most modern ones follow the studless style with smooth liftarms, which gives the models their characteristic open, skeletal look.
