About Castle
Navigating the factions
Castle is one of the oldest minifigure play themes, and over the decades it was split into distinct factions, each with its own shields, colours and adversaries. Here they are grouped as sub-themes: Classic Castle for the late-1970s beginnings, then Black Falcons, Lion Knights, Black Knights, Forestmen, Wolfpack, Dragon Knights, Royal Knights, Dark Forest and Fright Knights. Later chapters include Knights Kingdom I and II, Fantasy Era and Kingdoms. If you are after a particular era, the sub-theme pages are the quickest route. The pattern is similar in most waves: noble knights face a rival group, whether forest outlaws or darker orders of knights, and each range brings its own castle, carts and siege equipment.

Most of the 271 sets on this page belong to the 2013 Castle range. King's Castle (70404-1) is the centrepiece with 1,003 pieces, joined by Dragon Mountain (70403-1, 381 pieces), The Gatehouse Raid (70402-1, 248), Gold Getaway (70401-1, 199) and Forest Ambush (70400-1, 90). Blacksmith Shop (3739-1) from 2002 is an older addition at 629 pieces. Smaller extras include the Castle Dragons Accessory Set (850889-1) from 2014 and the 5 x Magenta Knights Bundle (EG00165-1) from 2025.
